Refund & Returns Policy

Returns, Refunds & Buying With Confidence

At MSC Sports Memorabilia (“MSC”, “we”, “our”, or “us”), we want you to buy with confidence.

We understand that memorabilia purchases are often personal, collectible, sentimental, and sometimes investment pieces. Whether it’s a signed jersey, framed display, match-used item, or limited-edition collectible, we take great care in ensuring items arrive exactly as expected.

This Refunds & Returns Policy explains how returns, exchanges, refunds, damaged deliveries, and authenticity-related claims are handled.

And yes — we know nobody reads this page hoping for excitement. We’ll still try to make it painless.

Your Rights Under South African Law

This Policy operates alongside your rights under the:

  • Consumer Protection Act (CPA)
  • Electronic Communications and Transactions Act (ECTA)
  • Other applicable South African consumer laws

 

Nothing in this Policy limits your legal rights where those laws apply.

Change-of-Mind Returns

Due to the collectible, limited-edition, fragile, and often custom nature of memorabilia products, MSC Sports Memorabilia does not generally accept returns for:

  • Change of mind
  • Incorrect selection by the customer
  • Buyer’s remorse
  • Preference changes after delivery

 

However, we may consider certain return requests at our discretion, provided that:

  • The item is returned within 7 days of delivery
  • The item is unused and undamaged
  • The item is in its original packaging and condition
  • Certificates of Authenticity and accompanying materials are included
  • The item has not been customised, framed-to-order, or personalised

 

Approved discretionary returns may be subject to:

  • Inspection upon return
  • Restocking fees
  • Return shipping costs

Custom-Framed & Special-Order Items

The following items are generally non-returnable unless defective or incorrectly supplied:

  • Custom-framed memorabilia
  • Personalised products
  • Made-to-order displays
  • Special-order imports
  • Custom presentation cases

 

This is because many of these items are specifically prepared or assembled for individual orders.

In other words: once something has been custom-built for you, it’s difficult for us to casually pop it back onto the shelf and pretend nothing happened.

Damaged or Defective Items

If your order arrives damaged or defective:

  • Notify us within 48 hours of delivery
  • Retain all original packaging
  • Provide clear photographs of:
    • The packaging
    • The shipping label
    • The damaged item

 

We may:

  • Arrange a replacement where possible
  • Offer repair or restoration solutions
  • Provide a refund where appropriate
  • Open a courier or insurance claim

 

Failure to report transit damage promptly may affect our ability to process claims.

Incorrect Orders

If you receive the wrong item, please contact us within 7 days of delivery.

Where an error has occurred on our side, we will arrange:

  • Collection where applicable
  • Replacement where available
  • Refunds where appropriate

 

The returned item must remain unused and in its original condition.

Authenticity Guarantee Returns

Authenticity is central to our business.

MSC Sports Memorabilia guarantees that memorabilia sold through our website is authentic.

If an item purchased from us is proven not to be authentic, we will:

  • Accept the return of the item
  • Provide a full refund of the purchase price

 

To process authenticity-related claims, we may require:

  • Supporting evidence
  • Independent authentication documentation
  • Inspection of the item

 

This guarantee applies only to products purchased directly from MSC Sports Memorabilia.

Condition of Returned Items

Returned items must:

  • Be securely packaged
  • Include all certificates, tags, and accessories
  • Be returned in original condition
  • Show no signs of misuse, damage, or alteration after delivery

 

We reserve the right to refuse refunds where returned products:

  • Have been damaged after delivery
  • Have missing authentication materials
  • Have been altered, reframed, or modified
  • Are not returned in resaleable condition where applicable

 

Return Shipping Costs

Unless otherwise required by law or where an error occurred on our side:

  • Customers are generally responsible for return shipping costs
  • Original shipping charges may not be refundable

 

For approved defective, damaged, or incorrect-order claims, MSC Sports Memorabilia may cover reasonable return shipping costs.

Refund Processing

Approved refunds will typically be processed using the original payment method.

Refund processing times may vary depending on:

  • Payment provider processing times
  • Banking institutions
  • Inspection or verification requirements

 

We’ll always aim to process valid refunds as quickly as reasonably possible.

Non-Returnable Items

The following items are generally not eligible for return or refund unless required by law:

  • Custom-framed memorabilia
  • Personalised items
  • Special-order products
  • Clearance or sale items marked as non-returnable
  • Items damaged after delivery
  • Products missing Certificates of Authenticity or original packaging
  • Gift cards or vouchers (where applicable)

 

Fraud Prevention

To protect both collectors and our business, MSC Sports Memorabilia reserves the right to:

  • Refuse suspicious return requests
  • Request verification documentation
  • Inspect returned products carefully
  • Decline claims involving altered or substituted items

 

Collectible memorabilia is unfortunately a category that attracts occasional fraud attempts, so certain verification procedures are necessary.

Exchanges

Exchanges may be considered on a case-by-case basis depending on:

  • Product availability
  • Product condition
  • Nature of the request

 

Because many items are unique or limited edition, direct replacements are not always possible.
